Senior Ministry

Senior Adults at FBC believe that God still has lots for us to do.

We encourage you to join us as we grow in our spiritual walk through a small group Bible Study and by attending Senior Adult Conferences.

We invite you to join us as we grow in our relationship with others through fellowships and sight-seeing trips.

We offer you the opportunity to serve God by serving others in our congregation and in our community.

We encourage you to participate in short term mission trips that will allow you the opportunity to share Christ and minister to His children.

We also invite you to help us by bringing your wisdom and experience so that we might learn of other ways we might serve His kingdom.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Texas Sports Hall of Fame

Waco Magnolia Market

February 27

This is a trip for both husbands and wives.  We will drop the men off at the Sports Hall of Fame, featuring displays celebrating every sport in Texas from the High School level through the Pros.  The Museum features a Texas High School Room, a special Tom Landry Room and a wing remembering the Old Southwest Conference.  As the men enjoy the Hall of Fame, the women will be taken to the Magnolia Market to “shop til they drop”.  Featured on HGTV, the market offers plenty of shopping experiences.  We will meet up for lunch after everyone has had plenty of time to enjoy their activities. We depart at 8:30 and will return following lunch.  Cost for the Hall of Fame is $7.

 Wild Widows & Flowers Trip

With Lunch in Fredericksburg

Friday * March 31

Travel south with us to view the highways of Texas littered with Bluebonnets and other native flowers, ending at the Fredericksburg Wildseed Farm where you can see acres of Texas Wildflowers blooming and buy all the seed you want to fill your yard (and get mowed over by the lawn man).  We will stop in Fredericksburg for lunch before going to the Wildseed farm. We will leave around 8:30 am.

Only cost is what you eat or buy.  And be sure to save a little of that for the Blue Bonnet Café in Marble Falls on the way home!

Riverbend

Senior Adult Retreat

featuring Dennis Swanberg

Tuesday ** April 11

10:00—3:00

Cost for the day is $20 which includes lunch.

One of Southern Baptist’s Greatest humorist, Dennis Swanberg will keep you smiling and laughing until your sides split and your jaw aches.  Spend a day enjoying God’s blessings with other Seniors at our local encampment.  We will depart the church at 9:00 am.  We will want to get good seats for this one!

Creation Evidence Museum

Friday * May 26

Experience one of Somervell County’s best hidden treasures.  Just a short distance from Dinosaur Valley State Park where there are actual Dinosaur Tracks, is the Museum that shows us that it was indeed God who created this earth and placed these dinosaurs here alongside man.  There is plenty to look at to keep us busy for over an hour, including the 25 foot replica of Noah’s Ark.  We will leave the church at 9:45 to visit the museum and go out to eat in Glen Rose following.
